Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is your deposit and what are your terms and conditions with deposits?

    • For Tattoo Appointments, a $50 deposit is required to secure the appointment. Deposits are non-refundable. If you need to reschedule, please let me know at least 5 days in advance to keep the original deposit, failure to do so will forfeit the deposit and a new deposit will be required. I understand that things happen, so please just communicate with me and I will do my best to help you out! (:

  • How should I prepare for my appointment?

    • Get plenty of rest the night before and stay hydrated before and during your appointment. We provide water and beverages at the shop but feel free to bring a beverage of your choice. Eat a meal before your appointment, we also provide snacks! Please do not show up hungover or under the influence - this may result in a rescheduling of your appointment and potentially a forfeit of your deposit.

  • How do I care for my tattoo after my appointment?

    • If you're given Derm Shield:

      • You will be given two pieces of Derm Shield (it's a clear, bandaid-like sticker), one to wear for 24 hours and taken off so that you can wash and clean the tattoo. Once the tattoo is patted dry, apply the second piece and that one may be worn up to 5 days. Derm Shield is water-resistant so you can shower with it but do not submerge. It is breathable and will keep debris/contaminants off your new tattoo! After you've taken off the second piece, keep the tattoo clean and apply thin layers of mild, unscented lotion anytime the tattoo is dry.

    • If you have a large tattoo or are sensitive to the Derm Shield adhesive:

      • You will be wrapped in saran wrap and tape. The wrap is to make sure you get home with your tattoo safe, once you get home, you may take off the wrappings and wash the tattoo and pat dry. Continue to wash and pat as needed. After a 24 hour period, apply mild, unscented lotion everytime the tattoo is dry.

    • Regardless of how your tattoo was wrapped after your appointment, always use:

      • Mild, unscented soap - fragrance will irritate the fresh tattoo. Do not use dish soap. Use something like Dial or SoftSoap.

      • Mild, unscented lotion - again, fragrances will irritate your fresh tattoo. Do not use anything like coconut oil or Aquaphor. Use something like CeraVe or Lubriderm.

      • Use paper towels or paper tissues when patting a tattoo dry. Treat the tattoo like a cut, do not use a dirty hand towel.

      • Your tattoo will take 2 weeks to heal on the surface, so refrain from submerging like taking baths or going for swims until the 2 week period has passed. Your tattoo will take about 8 weeks to heal internally, so minimize sun exposure or wear sunscreen (after the 2 week period) liberally to protect your tattoo.

      • It is normal for the tattoo to scab, flake, and peel during the 2 week healing period. Do not scratch or peel the tattoo! Let your skin do its thing.

  • How much for my tattoo?

    • I tattoo based on my hourly rate (check my Instagram Bio for my hourly rate) and can provide flat rates based on your Tattoo Inquiry. Once we've discussed your tattoo idea, size of the tattoo, and placement, I can give you a flat quote so you know what to expect. I am also flexible with budgets as well! So if you have a different budget to my quote, we can tweak the tattoo to fit your budget (:

  • Can I see the drawing of the tattoo before my appointment?

    • I do not send out drawings before the tattoo appointment. This is to ensure that my work is protected and will not be taken to another artist. This is why it is important for both of us to be thorough during the Consultation or when discussing the Tattoo Inquiry. However, I always allot some time at the beginning of your tattoo appointment to make minor adjustments to the tattoo. If you have hesitations or are nervous about your final tattoo design, you may schedule a separate appointment to come in and look at the design before your Tattoo Date.

  • What forms of payment do you take?

    • Cash is preferred and we do have an ATM in the studio. I also take Venmo, Cashapp, and Zelle. I do not accept physical card payments at this time.

  • Do I need to book a Consultation Form?

    • Not all tattoos require a consultation form. You should book a Consultation Form if you have a large piece in mind (something like 5 inches x 8 inches) or have a very complex tattoo idea (something that has multiple elements or themes). Consultations are also great if you need a specific area filled in, such as an area that has other surrounding tattoos to work around. You should also book a Consultation if you just want assistance in visuaizing your tattoo idea - I love doing this step with clients so definitely book a Consultation so we can chat!

    • If you submit a Tattoo Inquiry and I feel that it will require a Consultation to go over specifics, I will schedule you for that.

  • How does your Flash Voucher work?

    • Flash Vouchers or Rainchecks may be purchased on Flash Day Events at the studio. They may be redeemed for any of the Flash Designs in the studio or you may bring your own design as long as it is no larger than 2 inches diameter. Vouchers (or rainchecks) are only valid up to a year from the purchase date - after that, they are no longer redeemable. Vouchers also work as a deposit when scheduling your Flash Tattoo appointment and will be treated the same in terms of resheduling or last minute cancellations. To book a Flash Voucher appointment, please email me: nomyoart@gmail.com.
